Mumps in Washington State
We received very good news when the bid for the new Middle School project came in under budget. This was a big surprise, as the indicators around the construction industry projected increases to construction projects. This means that there is some additional resources that can be used to address other capital projects throughout the district which would not have been possible without the availability of additional funds.
At the December 8th School Board Meeting, the Board of Directors will be discussing facility priorities and how to best use bond proceeds as a result of the favorable Middle School bid. Bond proceeds can only be used to address capital expenditures and in previous School Board discussions priorities have included:
Additional classroom space to address increased enrollment at all schools
Safety and security measures at all schools – Alarm systems, access controls, and fire panels.
Infrastructure and facility maintenance at all schools – HVAC, roofs, phone systems, parking lots, floor surfaces
